Research Appointments are an opportunity for students to discuss their research with a librarian. The librarian will help you work out a search strategy, a step-by-step procedure for finding information. Then he or she will suggest sources that will give you an overview of your topic and help you think of ways to evaluate the information you find. Depending on the complexity of your topic, most consultations last from 30 minutes to one hour. You will receive a response within 72 hours.
Wilson Library is committed to teaching students to make full, self-sufficient, and sophisticated use of information resources. The library instruction program is based on the belief that to perform to the best of their ability in university courses, as well as independent intellectual inquiry, students must be able to make informed and judicious use of the library and its resources. Library faculty work closely with teaching faculty to develop appropriate course-related instruction in the use of library and information resources. To assure the availability of a librarian, a classroom and needed material, please contact us as early as you can.
